Overview - This course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to become familiar with economics and its relationship to our free enterprise system. Throughout the course global implications of the changing envirement are addressed.

Course Content

    Making economic decisions as an individual in addition to the public/private sector.

    Supply: Producing goods and services

Material Required/Fees
Textbook, notebook, pen/pencil (daily), pocket folder for handouts All Marketing students are required to pay a $10 Business/Marketing fee. DECA is the youth organization for high school students enrolled in Marketing Education classes. DECA provides opportunities for students to participate in various activities. The membership dues are $10 per student. The dues cover local, state, and national membership. In order for a student to be considered as a participant in District and or State competition, the club fee must be paid.

Fashion Marketing
    Overview - Fashion Merchandising is a one credit course. Students are introduced to the fashion industry through a project-oriented curriculum..

    Cooperative EducationAdvanced Marketing/Fashion Marketing II is a course which offers students the opportunity to be enrolled in the Cooperative Program. Students may take the class for one to three credits. Cooperative students are required to maintain part-time employment in the Marketing field throughout the entire school year.

    Material Required / FeesAll Marketing students are required to pay the Business/Marketing fee of $10. Students may desire to join the Marketing Club, DECA for an association fee of $10 DECA is a vital part of the JRHS Marketing Department and will provide students the opportunity to participate in various leadership, civic, and professional activities.


Career Awareness
    (Semester Honors 11 & 12 grade)
    Overview -This is a course designed to help students expand their knowledge of various career fields. Through classroom instruction and a shadowing experience, students will develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to make career decisions.
